Refirement eZine January 2009

Dear Fellow Boomers,

Welcome to the beginning of a new year. I hope that you have rested, reflected and have direction and energy for this year. I sense through the tough times that people are becoming creative, managing their finances more carefully and taking a deep look at some of the activities that they have been involved with. I do think this is a good thing.

This first newsletter is very short. A reminder of the workshop in February, the conference in March and that I have started a social network for Refirement Network. This site allows each member to interact with one another, add your own events and blogs and to become a connected member of Boomers around the country.

If the last two sentences make you cringe, maybe you need to attend my new workshop that will be happening on February 25th in Bryanston area. I know there are a lot of Baby Boomers who are not taking advantage of technology due to the fact that we did not grow up in the computer era and often feel like people are speaking a foreign language. This course is a start up for people who do not even have a computer but want to understand the process to buying one. The course will cover practical applications of how technology is changing the world, what we need and what courses we will be offering during 2009. I will be working with a qualified computer trainer who will run both one on one and group workshops once you have decided that this is part of the learning you would like to tackle this year. I will also touch on items like banking, travel, photography and communication with our children and friends around the world using the computer. This workshop will cost R300 and will be a stand alone to help you make some decisions about the route you would like to follow from here. Please email me at lgsmith@mweb.co.za if you are interested. I have called this course Techno Crunch for Boomers.

The economic crunch has caused many of us to reassess our lives and the journey heading towards retirement. Please contact me if you would like a coaching session or do chat about your own personal journey for yourself or your staff.

Kind Regards
